These disorders are characterized by feelings of constant worry, anxiety and/or fear that is strong enough to interfere with daily activities. An Anxiety Disorder tends to be chronic, irrational and interferes greatly with a person’s life. Avoidance behavior, incessant worry, concentration and memory problems may all stem from an Anxiety Disorder.

ANXIETY DISORDERS. can usually be treated successfully by a variety of techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Talk Therapy, Somatic Therapy as well as EMDR. There are many new medications as well as non-medical techniques such as self-help groups, psychotherapy groups, counseling, 12 step programs, physical exercise, good nutrition, meditation, mindful awareness, humor, recreation, connecting with nature, and pursuing a passion of one’s choice to have a purpose in life.
NORMAL ANXIETY… Normal anxiety is intermittent and based on specific events. Many people are on edge before an exam, but a person with an anxiety disorder might be anxious several weeks beforehand and will experience intense symptoms. An anxiety disorder is ongoing and the feelings can last for weeks or months.
